The main advantage of the APZmini system is the possibility of realizing ATS change-over in systems without voltage transformers, which significantly reduces the costs of such automation. The system can also be used in switchgears with voltage transformers; it is distinguished by its universality and ease of operation while maintaining high functionality.

Design of APZmini automatic unit:

The automatic unit is dedicated for the following switchgears:

  • HV, MV, LV equipped with voltage transformers (measuring elements included in secondary circuits 100V);
  • MV not equipped with voltage transformers (voltage measurement is realized through reactance insulators);
  • LV not equipped with voltage transformers (measuring elements incorporated directly into 0.4kV primary circuits)


Automatic control system construction:

The automatic unit has a distributed construction, based on the following elements:

  • One automatic unit APZmini located in any place in switchgear. Its task is to control the ATS automatics;
  • From 2 to 5 PB or PB04 relays built in bays of corresponding circuit breakers. Their task is to collect information from particular bay, including control of voltage presence. Their task is to collect the information from the bay, including the control of voltage presence. 


Thanks to application of distributed system it is possible to limit the number of cable connections. PB relays (fulfilling measuring and executive functions) are built in bays of adequate circuit breakers, what in a essential way decreases laboriousness of installation process by eliminating connections between bays of switchgears. For connecting the automatic unit with relays commonly available communication cables with DB9 connectors are used.

The key feature in relation to operation of APZmini is application of the "plug and play" principle. (plug and play) principle. This means that the machine does not require any complicated settings or costly commissioning process. Practically the only parameter that needs to be selected is the operating mode. For each operating mode, all advanced settings are already pre-programmed in the factory.
