Modular structure, dedicated operating system, application of PLC programmable straton code by COPA-DATA and free programming in accordance with IEC 61131-3 central unit (ET-CP) enable, through I / O modules, acquisition, supervision and effective control of power objects as well as industrial processes. I / O modules have an object interface working on all common levels of voltages and currents (for binary modules: 24VDC, 220VDC, 230VAC, for analog modules: 0 / 4..20mA, 0..1 / 2 / 5A, -10 / 0..10V, 0-230V).

The controller is connected to the main communication bus by means of an Ethernet interface with a 1Gb transmission speed (dual interface in ET-CP central units with a built-in L2 switch).

Communication between modules is carried out through the author's hybrid ET-BUS bus that combines both event communication with cyclical and simultaneous separation of large data packet transmissions (eg from analog input modules) from bistate, alarm or diagnostic signals. The ET-BUS bus allows connection of up to 64 modules of various types both within one cabinet and distributed. A copper or fiber-optic cable can serve as the medium of this connection. Thanks to the individual addressing of each module on the ET-BUS bus, there is no rigidly assigned installation location for individual modules, which enables free expansion of existing controllers with new modules or functionalities.

All modules, including I / O modules, have their own clock synchronized with 1ms accuracy, thanks to which they give precise time stops to events or measurements, which are then transferred to the ET-Server or any superior system and saved with the time footer given in the moment registration by the input module.

The modules are installed on a mounting plate, which thanks to its unique design can be freely configured - from 1 to 64 slots - depending on the needs.

Communication capabilities with third-party devices provide, in addition to two Ethernet ports, three serial RS485 communication ports available on the ET-CP unit, as well as EKM converter units available in the product portfolio of Enenergotest. In combination with the possibility of using multiple communication protocols (including IEC61850, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU), it provides us with virtually unlimited communication with any systems or devices.

An interesting and unique feature of ET-DCS binary ET-DCS modules is the ET-DirectLink function, which gives the possibility of direct data transfer between the input and output module, bypassing the central unit and without introducing additional delays. This feature allows for a significant reduction in the number of cable connections when transferring, for example, status information and controls between the site and a traditional desktop.

All modules have a unified housing and are free of moving parts (fans).

Each module can be exchanged under voltage during operation of the installation.
