XXVI SPIE ENERGOTEST Conference "Power Automation in the Era of Transformation"

The XXVI SPIE Energotest Conference "Power Automation in the Era of Transformation" was held on 13-15 May 2026 at the Crystal Mountain Hotel in Wisła. This year's edition brought together representatives of transmission and distribution system operators, the power generation sector, industry, renewable energy sources, technology suppliers and experts related to power automation.

The event provided a space for the exchange of experience, presentation of the latest technical solutions and discussion of the challenges facing the power sector in a period of dynamic transformation.

Aims of the conference

The aim of the conference is to point the way forward in power automation for all participants in the National Power System (NPS). Particular emphasis is placed on spreading practical knowledge adapted to the dynamic changes associated with the energy transition.

Conference attendees

The event is also a platform for the exchange of experiences, enabling networking in the electrical power industry. The conference has gained a reputation as one of the most professional and valuable events in the Polish power industry. Previous editions of the conference were attended by:

- Nearly 400 participants!

- 120 companies!

- 25 exhibitors!

6 sectors that make up the pillars of the "Electricity Automation" conference:

  Transmission

 Distribution

 Conventional Generation

Renewable Energy Sources (RES) with Energy Storage

 Industry

  Solution Providers

Provider (represented by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne) brings the perspective of system stability and reliability, while emphasising the fundamental importance of protection automation in maintaining the safety of grid operations.

Distribution, whose role is definitely increasing in the era of decentralisation of generation, enters into a close dialogue with Transmission, jointly seeking modern solutions in the area of protection and power automation that will enable effective cooperation of high-voltage networks.

Industry joins the conference, presenting the real needs of customers and indicating how automation, supervision and monitoring systems affect the uninterrupted operation of production processes. RES brings dynamism and variability, requiring flexible protection systems, control automation and effective collaboration with grid operators to safely integrate new sources into the system.

Conventional generation complements this perspective, working with RES and grid operators in the areas of stability, power regulation and maintaining predictability, where advanced block automation is key.

Solution providers, on the other hand, are the technological backbone of the entire industry - supporting each sector in developing power automation, innovating, digitalising and improving the reliability of equipment and protection systems.

The coming together of these six pillars - transmission, distribution, industry, RES, conventional generation and technology providers - creates a unique forum for the exchange of experiences in the field of power and protection automation. In this way, the conference becomes a platform on which we jointly build a view of the future of the power industry and the directions for the development of technologies to protect, stabilise and drive it.

Benefits of attending

  • Knowledge update - learn about the latest technologies, solutions and industry regulations.
  • Network development - network with market leaders and key decision makers.
  • Inspiration for action - see challenges from other experts' perspectives and share experiences.

High level of content

The conference agenda changes with market needs and technological advances. Thanks to the participation of recognised speakers, the event provides an in-depth insight into the latest trends, regulations and technologies that are shaping the future of the power industry in Poland and worldwide.

The conference is appreciated by participants for the high standard of presentations and the opportunity to actively participate in Q&A sessions. Presentations supported by the speakers' sound knowledge and practical experience guarantee valuable conclusions and inspiration for further action. It is a place where both experienced professionals and young professionals can broaden their horizons.
